In the context of the European media art project BROADCAST MEDIA SCULPTURES, Radio Orange 94.0, together with European partners, has been fostering artistic explorations and engagements in the course of an experimental investigation on the future of mass media.

In a trans-European series in five cities (Budapest, Vienna, Sofia, Amsterdam and London), the project has gathered artists from various backgrounds, such as music, theatre, video, performance and installation art and has offered them the possibility to experiment with radio, TV, New Media, (semi-)public and social spaces as artistic media, as well as new and emerging forms operating along the interfaces of art and technology.

All developed artworks and the participating artists from Eastern and Western Europe will gather together at the Media Conference “THE FUTURE OF OLD MEDIA” and share their experiences at the Kunsthalle Exnergasse in the WUK Vienna, on the 2nd and 3rd of September 2010.
At the conference, the results of the project BROADCAST MEDIA SCULPTURES will be presented and discussed, the investigations will be analyzed in terms of artistic media-issues, giving the oppurtunity to establish contemporary scientific positions and media networks for future European activities.
Individual works of the artists will also be presented to a large audience on the 4th of September 2010 at the Radio ORANGE 94.0 Festival in the WUK Vienna.

The media art project BROADCAST MEDIA SCULPTURES.
Since May 2009, media artists and activists of the project have been working on different tendencies of new and old media and their entanglement.
After a two-day conference in the Kunsthalle Exnergasse on the 2nd & 3rd of September, several artworks will be presented on the 4th of September in the Foyer of the WUK Vienna.

The environmental project “European Energy Radio Campaign”.
A 30-part radio series on environmental issues, produced by ORANGE 94.0.
The environmental project will present various environmental organizations and initiatives in the courtyard of the WUK and prove that environmental issues are not bleak or boring at all.

Finally in the evening, the radio will  celebrate its anniversary with an international concert line-up in the main hall of the WUK.

A babylonic language confusion intervention at
the Brunnenmarkt in Vienna – on air at Radio Orange 94.0.

Anna Raimondo’s Radio Performance “Play Babel” invited participants to explore words from different languages as sounds and communication made only by gestures. The suggested exercises for transcultural communication were broadcasted by Radio Orange 94.0. During the interaction with the people from the market place, the quest was to find out if this kind of communication actually exists.

“Ok” is the most popular word on earth, followed by “coca cola” – words that need no translation.

But how do you translate the 22 words that Eskimos use for snow, while we only have one?

Linguistic translation is not always possible…

But how about a form of mutual understanding over languages?

Play babel is a story that you are invited to join…

Anna Raimondo, here I am. Metà gerundio, metà palindromo.

I often wonder how I would perceive my body noises if I had no Eustachian tube or how I could distinct the pronunciation of a capital letter from that of a small letter.

I’m very interested in barriers, especially those of the sound, any frontier in radio diffusion and all the different forms to interact with the audience, whom I lend my hear to. I prefer the phonetics of a language, its accents, reverberation and all the words I can’t understand. For this I like living in foreign countries which correspondent language puzzles charm me, from Spain to France, from Italy to Morocco, from Lavapiés Chipén in Madrid to Rue Canabière in Marseilles.

It is in Marseilles where I’m currently training my ears and keeping my vocation for the radio alive, while working for Radio Grenouille in the program “Jusqu’ici tout va bien”.

Let me also mention Radio Papesse, Radio Pan, Radio Vallekas, R22, Radio Circulo, Radio Tres (Radio Nacional de España), and the Italian magazine Platypus L’Eclettico.

[In the context of Vienna's SCULPTURE PARKS, Anna Raimondo will be working as an Artist in Residency at Radio ORANGE 94.0 in Vienna from the 26th of July to the 16th of August on her Radio Performance "Play Babel"]

At this evening session the Interface Studies Group will present the ‘interface’ as the centre of technology mediated experience and will reveal trends, notions and tangible prototypes that stretch and challenge the still predominant screen – spectator arrangement.

In contrast with traditional cinema and TV, in what may be called the ‘post-PC’ era, mobile and haptic interfaces and Reactive Environments are putting the embodied presence of the user back on stage. By engaging other senses and modalities such as touch, voice, movement and mobility and by taking into account the user’s sensorial and affective dimensions, new forms of interaction, knowledge production, and forms of sociality are made possible.

A tram equipped as an art space and radio studio at the same time, is on the road between 11pm and midnight, this Sunday, 14 March 2010. Join the ride, either by turning up at one of the stops or by tuning in: “informal radio” is a live on air multi-channel radio performance, including nine radio stations based throughout Austria.

„informal radio“ is a project by students of the Digital Art class at Vienna’s University of Applied Arts, supervised by Nicolaj Kirisits and Klaus Filip. The tram becomes a mobile exhibition space for twelve time-based installations by Kathrin Stumreich, Viktoria Wöß, JoaKnierzinger, Mara Bloom, hpl, Johannes Muik, Daniel Gyolcs, mths, Miriam Mone, conny zenk, Karl Salzmann, Jan Perschy and Conny Zenk + mths.

The episodes of the ride are marked by the trams stops. Six microphones will be moved through the carriage and provide the sounds for the 6-channel-radio broadcast.

Listeners are requested to set up three radios, ideally stereo, and tune in each to another station:

Accompanying the exhibition, events and film screenings of BBS 50: Other Voices, Other Rooms – Attempt(s) at Reconstruction

Students of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) have made a series of interactive artworks as a greeting for the 50th anniversary of Balázs Béla Studio.
The exhibition, which consists of seven installations selected in a competition process at MOME, allows to create continuity and acts as an interpretation tool between the (recent) past and future of media art, by reflecting on certain artworks or a general mass media phenomenon.
The MOME students created installations that map new media art tendencies, with special attention to forms of experimentation and possibilities of communication in the new experimental media. The installations present ideas and visions that reflect the future
strategies of young artists. The jury of MOME Media Playground favoured works, in which artistic invention and expression goes hand in hand with playfulness and comprehensibility and those, which are based on interaction and activating the audience.

Annoying Not Annoying – a performance by Bori Rutkai, Albert Márkos and Dávid Farkas (dj Bem) + surprise:
MOME/BBS audiovisual reOpening on Thursday 18th February between 6 PM and 10 PM

Participants:
In Virág Bogyó’s project film scripts are used from the BBS archives that had never been realised. Using these scripts as a starting point, she takes photos as film stills, emphasising an alternative version of the past and the framework, in which BBS operated.

Dávid Lovas and Emese Góg’s piece New Media in the Display Cabinet presents the artists’ opinion on current media, extending their interpretation to the market and consumer culture. A film selection from the BBS archives are taken to a trivial display cabinet and are ironically re-interpreted by today’s shifted values and hierarchy.

Ádám Bence Kiss, Ágoston Nagy and Bence Samu created an unusual operating surface,
the SpaceScan, with which we can navigate among various visual contents with spatial movement and thus influence the projected films.

Doma Harkai’s interactive street art project, Democracy uses a computer software that plays and archives virtual graffitis sprayed by visitors onto projected building facades.

Dániel Feles and Áron Birtalan presents an installation called Aqua Glitch, which can be activated by touch. The sounds and images of a projected video can be modified by the visitors breaking the surface of a large water-filled bowl. http://aquaglitch.tumblr.com/

Dávid Ráday’s Self:Archive reflects on the spirit of BBS and especially on Tibor Hajas’s film ‘Self-fashion-show’, by connecting BBS and today’s approach to fashion. At Műcsarnok, visitors can take part in an imaginary ‘casting’, and the videos filmed there are immediately
uploaded to the BBS archives at bbsarchiv.hu and thus to the infinite archives of the internet.

Dóra Popella’s installation, Objectified Snobism, or “Antisocial Garden Dwarfs as the Imprint of our Current State of Mind” responds to the movement of visitors using garden dwarfs scattered in the exhibition hall. Once being approached, they start to speak, sometimes asking visitors to leave.

Szilvia Papp’s Star-Shooting is an installation with today’s hollow celebrity icons – validated by TV and pushmedia tools – in the center, aiming at revealing in a playful manner the emptiness of the celebrity world and implying that the choice to shoot the TV screen is ours.

MOME line – design workshop
MOME line – design workshop has been set up in cooperation with the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. Besides promoting design and its function, MOME line – design workshop undertakes to fulfil the role of mediator between a wide variety of initiatives, be they business, art or social investments, and the creative human resources. Through our collaboration, MOME line – design workshop invites students to submit their ideas for specific projects and gives a helping hand for them in various EU tenders. In addition, MOME line – design workshop cooperates with accomplished, successful designers to create projects in the fields of animation, design, architecture, metal crafts, sustainable development, industrial design, photography, graphic design, environmental design, research and development, media design, art management, education, textiles, glass design and visual culture.

As part of Broadcast Media Sculptures, Media Playground is the second of two such projects presented by Resonance104.4fm. This Playground present movies, discussion and radiophonic sound-art in the distinctive surroundings of London’s Foundry bar. Media commentators, activists and critics join film-makers and radio-artists for a day of informal innovation and broadcast experimentation – of the kind one would expect from what the Radio Academy has called “a unique station in a saturated and largely homogenous radio market… a station that simply couldn’t be found anywhere else and that strongly identifies with – and super-serves – London’s creative and artistic community.”

At 2pm: discussion for broadcast – Pathological Over-Sharing. Featuring Becky Hogge (New Statesman, Open Knowledge Foundation), Ken Hollings (Destroy All Monsters), Mark Rock (Audioboo, Best Before Media) and Paul May (The Whale in the Room). As social networks proliferate, newspapers retreat and self-exposure goes global, a panel of culturally savvy thinkers gather to address such questions as, Is the internet a tool for democratic change or economic repression? What is the individual’s impact on media? And what is the impact of the media on social space?

At 3.30pm: Screenings of The London Perambulator followed by discussion with director John Rogers & subject Nick Papadimitriou. And Class Wargames presents Guy Debord’s The Game of War, followed by discussion with instigator Richard Barbrook, philosopher Stefan Lutschinger and director Ilze Black – plus a collective playing of Debord’s game.

At 8pm: The Resonance Radio Orchestra presents a new radiophonic soundtrack to Paul Wegener’s 1920 film of Gustav Meyrink’s psychogeographical thriller, The Golem, with multiple screen projection: “Once in every generation a spiritual epidemic spreads like lightning through the ghetto and causing a kind of mirage in the shape of a being characteristic of the place, one which lived here hundreds of years ago and still yearns for physical form.”

Plus Resonance104.4fm DJS including Lepke B and DJ Wrongspeed in the bar, 9pm till midnight.

We realised the first part of our Media Playground at this year’s Frieze Art Fair. Frieze generously allows us to occupy a booth and in return we broadcast their various talks and discussions. This year we also co-hosted an audio artwork by Ruth Ewan, an interesting young artist whose work focused on topical song – well suited to radio (and indeed it had its own RSL at the Fair).

For the Playground, I gathered together a variety of artists working across media. Alex Ressel has just graduated from Goldsmiths and is one of the movers behind London’s current artist-squatter scene. He and his friends think nothing of occupying empty pubs, language schools, embassies or car showrooms and fend off police alsatians with aplomb. More important to my mind than his skills in entering abandoned buildings or handling savage dogs is his flair as a film maker. We built a tiny cinema and Alex put together an impressive show reel of new work from a burgeoning new underground scene (as it seems to me). He also introduced us to Yuri Pattison, who set up a working television station in the booth, as well as providing some vintage photographic technology to document the project. Yuri is one of the artists behind Off-Modern, whose immersive multi-media events have been brightening up south London for the last year.

To surprise ourselves, we also invited Tomomi Sayuda, a young artist who had been recommended to me by a very circuitous route (i.e. I cannot remember). She brought an interactive audio tree and her magnificent iBum, an armchair which scans people’s arses. Grayson Perry, Ron Arad and Tomoko Nagai were among those who agreed to sit.

Meantime, Resonance had an elaborate analogue tape loop set up against one wall, built and tweaked by Paul Fishman. The idea here was to produce a durational, dense, multi-layered ident for the radio station, with members of the public pitching in and gradually erasing each other’s voices. And for reasons of elegance and pleasure, we exhibited some paintings by Roderick Hunt, prints by Jake Oliver-Fishman and photographs from the series Disseminated Primatemaia by Jamie Orlando Smith.

Jessica Voorsanger provided paintings of well-known BBC Radio personalities for us to auction and Bob and Roberta Smith not only read people’s palms but sold off two dozen radio-related works to raise money for Resonance.

More about this when I have sorted through the various images and outcomes of the project so far – made personally a bit awkward by the fact that, having overseen the installation of all the work, I was sick throughout the Fair so missed almost everything.

Neben den Installationen im Foyer und den Aktionen während der Veranstaltung gibt es in dieser Woche 3 Radiosendungen mit den Titel „Der Erhalt der Stille“, „Die Utopie der Stille in den Massenmedien“, „Epochale Klänge – 30 Sekunden Stille aus verschiedenen Jahrhunderten.“

In der ersten Sendung, „Der Erhalt der Stille“, wurde das Notfallprogramm des Radiosenders, das automatisch nach ca 50 sec. Stille angeht, ausgetrickst.

In der zweiten Sendung,„Die Utopie der Stille in den Massenmedien“,  wurde über die Möglichkeit und Unmöglichkeit der Stille in den Massenmedien als Informationsträger gesprochen.

In der dritten Sendung, „Epochale Klänge – 30 Sekunden Stille aus verschiedenen Jahrhunderten.“, war 30 sec. Stille aus verschiedenen Jahrhunderten zu hören.

Die Stille ist wie das Nichts – ein un-möglicher Ort. Die Stille ist die Richtung, in die sich die Massenmedien nicht bewegen können – insofern ist es eine Utopie.
Die Pille kam auf den Markt und wußte die Langzeitwirkung noch nicht. Von den Medien weiss man/frau/frosch/flasch auch noch nicht die Langzeitwirkungen. Könnte Leute vielleicht krank machen. Musste Pille  dann auch verändern.
Stille ist nicht konsumierbar. Was passiert in dem Moment, indem wir Stille „konsumieren“?
Informationsträger/Datenträger, wurden auch als Medien bezeichnet z.B. Esel, Tauben, Frauen die Infos trug. Aber kein Massenmedium. Geht um Überschreitung von Distanz. Brauche nirgendwo hin gehen – die Information kommt zu mir, ist bereits da.

Was ist/bedeutet Stille? Ist Stille im Radio möglich und bei ORANGE 94.0? Können wir das O94 Notfallprogramm ausser Kraft setzten? „Reine“ Stille/das Vakuum ist unerträglich.

Wie sollen wir arbeiten?
Jede für sich und dann in der Gruppe zusammen bringen?

Video/Visual: live Geschwindigkeit gehen und Computer beschleunigt und kehrt die Bewegung um. Weg zum brut gehen.
Vorteil Video: Jede kann etwas anderes einbringen z.B. Filmmusik komponieren.
Publikum produziert Sound. (Gibt es Mischpulte bei denen egal, wenn kaputt gehen?) Kann Publikum unabhängig vom Mischpult Geräusche etc produzieren?

Wie lange soll das dauern?
Stille weiter. Verhältniss Bild – Ton.
Als Element break. Kann mit der Länge der breaks spielen. Klangteppiche? Anpassen an bestimmte Bilder? Oder: Zuerst Musik und jemand macht den Film dazu?

Intensität der Klänge: Kleine oder grosse Buchstaben. Programm reagiert auf Lautstärke und Klang.
Elemente visuell bestimmen und herausholen (intensiv, leise), Kontraste schaffen.

Zeitklang: Wie hört sich eine bestimmte Zeit an?
Jede Zeit hat ihren Klang – Geschichte des Radios, wie hätte das 16 Jh. klingen können.
Klang und Wirklichkeit ist nicht reproduzierbar. Gehör. Ton macht „Echtheit/Jetzt“ Empfindung. Geräusch suggeriert Echtzeit.
Synchronizität: Bleistifft fällt auf Tischplatte. Wenn Synchronizität nicht gegeben, macht etwas befremdliches, aber auch spannendes z.B. Lippen bewegen ber passt nicht zum Ton.

Vorproduziertes Video und Klänge? Muss nicht alles live sein.
Etwas vorproduzieren und bei der Veranstaltung wieder brechen.

Mit Sprache und Klang etwas machen – geht nicht um den Sinn.

Jingle produzieren. Welche Funktion soll der Jingle haben? (Geräusch, Info: Gegenstand zum Fest mitnehmen). Für Mediasculptures.

Monotone Breitbandgeräusche, die als Stille wahrgenommen werden z.B. Grillen zirpen, Autolärm.

Was für Instrumente?

Improvisation: Etwas, das als Partitur verwendet werden kann z.B. eine Zeichnung, Graphik (z.B. Im Ws-Raum die Kastenbemalung – eine spielt nur das Grüne, eine nur die Fenster). Oder: Publikum filmen (aber nicht das Leute sich erkennen können) und Publikum nur Geräusche aufnehmen (Videomischpult) – andere Art von graphischer Partitur: Verwendet dann Bild/er von gefilmten Publikum.

Marianna Tscharkwiani (A, GEO),

Komponistin /Medienkomponistin

Geboren in Tbilisi, Rep. Georgien; lebt seit 1994 in Wien.

Musikwissenschaftsstudium am V. Saradjishvili Staatskonservatorium in Tbilisi. Nach Wien kam sie, um die theoretischen und historischen Aspekte der Elektronischen Musik im 20. Jahrhundert zu erforschen und um Material für ihre Diplomarbeit über K. Stockhausen zu sammeln. Nach einem Jahr am Institut elak an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Wien hat sie sich für die Medienmusik entschieden. Kompositionsstudium an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Wien.

Die verschiedenen Ausformungen der Jazz- und Rockmusik sowie multimediale, spartenübergreifende Ansätze sind für ihre Kompositionen ausschlaggebend geworden. Seit einigen Jahren beschäftigt sie sich mit den virtuosen Kompositionen für das Instrument Gitarre.

Seit 2002 intensive Zusammenarbeit und Gründung des Künstlerduos MARGIN mit der österreichischen Künstlerin und Performerin, Gina Mattiello.

Das Künstlerduo MARGIN wurde in der Absicht gegründet, neue Wege in der Umsetzung von Musik und Text zu ergründen. Realisiert wurden die gemeinsamen Projekte an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, im Rahmen von Festivals wie Wien Modern, e_may Festival für neue und elektronische Musik, MAK Gegenwartskunstdepot, KosmosTheater.

2005 erhielt sie eine Kompositionsförderung der Sektion Kunst des Bundeskanzleramts (bka).

Gemeinsam mit dem Gitarristen und Komponisten Eduardo Valdés gründete sie als Komponistin und Sängerin die Formation “Soul Contamination” (Heavy Metal/Elektronik/Akustisch).

2008 erhielt sie eine Kompositionsförderung der Kulturabteilung der Stadt Wien (MA7).

Derzeit verbindet die Künstlerin ihre kompositorische Arbeit mit einem Doktoratstudium in Musiksoziologie an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Wien.

Studium der Mediengestaltung / Digitale Kunst (Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien 2003 – 2009), Abschluss mit Diplom

Techniken umfassen digitale Scanverfahren, Sampling, virtuelle Kameraschwenks durch collagenhaft arrangierte visuelle Welten. Interessen liegen im Bereich Video, Game Art, kinetische Kunst und in der Entwicklung von Installationen und Performances als Ergebnisse der Selbstbeobachtung.

War Mitte der 90er Jahre in New York federführend am Aufbau eines Internetproviders für Kulturschaffende beteiligt. Seit seiner Rückkehr nach Österreich war er in verschiedenen Aufsichtsrats-, Management- und Geschäftsführungspositionen im Bereich Internet, Mobile Services sowie Retail tätig.

Domsich Kossatz & Steinberger Beratungs OEG beschäftigt sich mit Markt und Meinungsbeobachtung im Internet durch Analyse von Webseiten, Foren, Blogs und Social Communities.

Mitumba heißen die ausrangierten Textilien, die aus dem Überfluss europäischer Kleiderschränke in kommerzielle Sammelcontainer wandern und wenig später auf jedem afrikanischen Markt zu kaufen sind. Mitumba ist der neuaufgetragene Wohlstandsverbrauch des Westens – und ein gutes Geschäft.

mitumBACK verändert die Richtung dieses globalisierten Prozesses: Das Projekt kauft gespendete Altkleider in Tansania zurück, läßt sie von fair bezahlten afrikanischen Stickerinnen mit handgefertigten Etiketten neu labeln und reintegriert sie in den westlichen Markt. Ware wird Spende wird Ware. mitumBACK läßt das “Abgetragene, Abgelegte, Ausgesonderte, Fortgeworfene” als extravagantes Modeteil und künstlerisches Unikat in die „Erste” Welt zurückkehren und gibt bereits entwerteten Produkten durch ihre Re-Fetischisierung neuen Wert – einen, den sie zuvor nicht hatten.

Über DIGITALKS
Digitalks – die Wissensoffensive für digitale Medien – wurde von Meral Akin-Hecke, Wirtschaftsinformatikerin und Softwareberaterin, konzipiert und ins Leben gerufen . Unterm Jahr verteilt finden insgesamt 6 Informationsveranstaltungen, die sogenannten DIGITALKS, bei freiem Eintritt im Wiener Museumsquartier statt. DIGITALKS wird vom Verein Netzwerk für digitale Medien organisiert und will Online Medienkompetenz vermitteln. Dabei werden neue Technologien durch das reale Vorzeigen und praktische Anwenden dem Publikum präsentiert. Die Veranstaltungen werden live im Internet unter www.digitalks.at/livestream übertragen  und so einer breiten Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. Die Videos von den Vorträgen dienen somit als Informationsquelle für Einsteiger und Einsteigerinnen. DIGITALKS wird seit September 07  in Zusammenarbeit mit den Netzwerkpartnern erfolgreich umgesetzt und ist Träger des MINGO AWARD 2009 des Wiener Wirtschaft Förderungsfonds in der Kategorie „Wissenstransfer und Fortbildung“. Fokussiert wird auf alle Interessierten, die eine technisch-künstlerische Auseinandersetzung im Rahmen der gemächlichen Tea Time und den Neuen Medien suchen. Jene werden diesen Monat aufgerufen, sich mit innenposition und außendruck auseinanderzusetzen.

ist eine monatlich stattfindende informelle multimediale Zusammenkunft von Menschen aus den elektronischen Welten. Rund um die Tea Time, nachmittags, werden alle aufgerufen ihre Werkzeuge mitzunehmen, sich zu verdrahten und gemeinsam an einem audiovisuellen Jamming zu kochen.  Auf die Einbeziehung anderer Kunstformen konkret der Literatur wird ein besonderer Schwerpunkt gelegt. Die dabei entstandenen akusmatischen Visualisierungen werden, wenn sie eine gewünschte Dichte und Form erlangen zur Aufführung gebracht.

Kuratiert wird die Elektronik Tea Time von Stephan Roth, Lale Rodgarkia-Dara und Christoph Jokubonis.

Was Radio auszeichnet sind die Unmittelbarkeit des Mediums Radio und die nicht-kommerzielle Verknüpfung von Communities und Minorities mit dem Radio. Warum also nicht die beiden Essenzen verbinden, wenn für Live-Übertragungen und Sendungsrechte Millionen fließen und ein großer Apparat notwendig ist.
Vor allem bei Jugendlichen kann diese Unmittelbarkeit des Radios auf Interesse stoßen, da es sie vom reinen User (KonsumentIn) hin zu Selbstermächtigung  führt. Nicht das Tool steht im Vordergrund, sondern, was ich mit dem Tool erreichen will.
Mit der ersten Live-Übertragung eines in den Medien sonst nicht vorkommenden Sportevents (in dem Fall war es ja Lehrlingsmeisterschaftsturnier) und einer kleinen Sportkommentatorinnenausbildung außerhalb der öffentlich rechtlichen und kommerziellen Medien, haben wir (Lale und Frank) bereits letztes Jahr einen Schritt gesetzt.

Wir werden geeignete open-source-Streaminglösungen runterladen, gemeinsam auf einer offenen Streaming-Server-Plattform (nicht-kommerziell) registrieren und schauen, daß wir den Stream zum Laufen bringen.

Lale Rodgarkia-Dara,

Lale Rodgarkia-Dara werkt als Medieninstallateurin und Autorin in Wien. Zuletzt mit dem Exilliteraturpreis 2008 und Theodor Körner Preis 2009 ausgezeichnet.

Sie betreibt die Elektronik Teatime gemeinsam mit Stephan Roth und Christoph Jokubonis, ist Produzentin des Wiener radia-Teams (www.radia.fm) und wurde zuletzt mit dem Elektroakustischen-Live-Hörspiel (www.outofspace.net) gemeinsam mit der akademischen Leiterin Christine Ehardt zum Radio-Drama-Forum Mai 2009 in Teheran eingeladen.
Sie hält seit 2003 Workshops mit Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen.

In der ersten Phase des Projekts, die sogenannten MEDIA PLAYGROUNDS, werden in einer transeuropäischen Serie in fünf verschiedenen Städten (Amsterdam, London, Budapest, Sofia, Wien) verschiedene künstlerische und kreative Veranstaltungen organisiert. Diese MEDIA PLAYGROUNDS sollen grundlegende Tendenzen unter Medienaktivist_innen, junger Kunstszenen und Studenten sammeln und das thematische Problem aufzeigen.

Wiens Beitrag zur ersten Phase, die MEDIA PLAYGROUNDS, findet in der Woche zwischen dem 24. – 28. August 2009 statt. Der Rahmen dieser Woche bildet das Abendprogramm mit verschiedenen Workshops, Events Präsentationen zum Thema, die öffentlich zugänglich sind und jeden herzlich eingelädt, teilzunehmen. Parallel dazu bietet ORANGE 94.0 tagsüber 5 Künstlerinnen die Räumlichkeiten, Material und Technik sich medial auszutoben und ein gemeinsames Werk entstehen zu lassen.

Der Höhepunkt der Woche findet sich beim alljährlichen Geburtstagsfest von ORANGE 94.0 ein, der dieses Jahr im brut/künstlerhaus, im ersten Bezirk stattfindet und über das klassische Konzert und DJ-Line-Up hinausgehen soll. ORANGE 94.0 wird heuer 11 Jahre alt!
