Call for Artworks, Performances, and Artist’s Presentations: ‘SCULPTURE PARKS’!

The project ‘BROADCAST MEDIA SCULPTURES’, co-funded by the European Union Culture Programme and AFK, is looking for engaging media artworks in various forms which artistically reflect and investigate upon new forms of “storytelling” in media, using disciplinary and experimental approaches.

Related core themes are: mass media, broadcasting and new forms of audience interaction with media and arts. It could be in the form of experimental broadcasting, performance, interactive art, media, storytelling, film, video, augmented environments and sound art.

The artworks will be a part of the mixed media intervention called ‘SCULPTURE PARKS‘, which will take place in parallel at the participating cities of Vienna, Amsterdam and Budapest, in May 2010.

COMMISSION DETAILS

* Artworks if selected will need to be completed and ready to exhibit by the beginning of May 2010

* Deadline for proposals 15th of March 2010

INFRASTRUCTURES AND PREFERENCES

-Amsterdam – Preferred formats: multi-touch interfaces (screen interaction) and experimental live broadcasting. Offers: radio and TV broadcast airtime and related infrastructures.

-Budapest – Preferred formats: focus on the innovative use of augmented reality as a piece of art. Offers: broadcast airtime and related infrastructures.

-Vienna – Preferred formats: sound installations and experimental use of radio in public spaces, unusual formatting. Offers: studio time and flexible broadcast arrangements at the radio station.

APPLY! Send us a short proposal in English, outlining the concept, additional material (such as photo, video or sound files) and your CV. Proposals for the commission should explain how media will be featured as part of the work, and in which city you would like to exhibit the work.
